Product Information. In earlier Sims games, players interact with a household of virtual computer people. In The Sims 3, players interact with an entire neighborhood. Instead of playing each family discretely on its individual lot, players can now take their characters anywhere in town - to a friend's house, out to a restaurant, to a favorite park, or even to work. No matter which Sim the player is currently following, however, all the characters in the neighborhood are active whenever the game is being played.
Events that take place on the other side of town can have an effect on situations all across the neighborhood, just as the player's characters may influence the rest of the community with their actions (or inaction). Sims are now quick to pull out their mobile phones and keep one another informed, even if only about the latest gossip. The Create-A-Sim system in the Sims 3 refines the powerful tools featured in the Sims 2. Players have much more finely graduated control over many physical aspects of the characters they create. For example, a slider allows a choice of any size and shape between rail-thin and very overweight, instead of offering only three set body types, and a second slider controls the character's muscularity. To a greater degree than the previous game's character editor, the new tools give players the power to create recognizable Sim versions of people they know (or would like to know).
Sims personalities are now determined by up to five distinguishing traits, such as 'hot headed,' 'conversationalist,' 'clumsy,' 'great cook,' 'slob,' 'good sense of humor,' and even 'neurotic' or 'paranoid.' Players can choose from more than 60 available traits when they create each new Sim. As in earlier Sims games, players are free to make use of the built-in houses that come with the game, customize them however they see fit (and have the Simoleons to afford), or tear them down completely and build their own from scratch. The build mode offers players more customization as well, with a smaller grid from more precise placements, and the ability to rotate most objects to any angle. Stores, services, and places of work for the game's 12 career paths are all available throughout the neighborhood.
Players can't enter these buildings to watch a favorite Sim at work, but they can follow him there, and then back home again when his shift is done. Console gamers get the added bonus of using Karma Powers to spur their Sim into action. The 'Get Lucky' power, for example, may quickly lead to amorous situations, while the 'Epic Fail' power is sure to cause embarrassing mishaps. Players must be cautious when using these powers, however, because they may result in unexpected and disastrous results. Great installment, but lack of online interaction is very disappointing. I have always been a fan of The Sims series, this game reminds me of why I've stuck with the games since the very beginning.
The most customizable Sims game yet, especially with the option to download items and clothing made by other players while you're in-game, you can literally spend hours just creating your sim! The graphics are great, the game loads quickly, and I haven't had any problems with the online parts of the game. It's really a great installment to the series, but there are some things that I was disappointed with. I don't like the 'Karma Powers' aspect, I think that it's way too complex, at least for someone like myself who just wants to jump in and control something's life without having to monitor a billion things at once (I'm not talking about the status of your sim; I.E: hunger, happiness, etc). I wish that they would've stuck to just Dreams and Aspirations, but that's just me. I was also extremely disappointed with the fact that you couldn't play with your sim online.
If you're looking for a game to play online with friends, this is not your game! I could look past all of the other things that I didn't like about the game if it did have the online multiplayer option but oh well. It's still a great game to kill hours with (literally, when you first put it in you will spend what seems like hours just reading all of the tutorials) and I'm excited to see what comes next for the series.:D. Fun Game I've always been a big fan of the Sims Series (from 1,2,bustin out, and many more) And i still continue to find it a great game that's still just fun and hilarious to play! (with family or friends) Being able to create a lil sim of your own (rather its yourself or someone else) its fun to watch them grow, age, party, and help them reach their own goals. Custom clothes, custom houses/mansions you can build/enlarge/shrink or whatever you want to your OWN image. Though, they seemed to have removed the co-op feature in Sims 3.
(which kinda made me a bit disappointed.my family and i enjoy playing sims together and having fun) But it still remains a fun and interesting game even through single player. (though you can still swap and download user-made content online which i think is pretty cool ) I give the game a 4/5 and would recommend it to those who enjoy fun (rather online or by themselves). Sims are running the show If you have played the PC version of this game, then you already know how great this is. Highly addictive and lots of fun.Putting this out on X-box did not hurt the game. The graphics are very sharp and clear. Game play is great for controller.
Sims still have no real voice.Kinda strange. The story is what you make it. When you play this for the first time its best you start with just one sim. Unlike older versions, you can follow sim into town or work and interact with business and people.Your sims will age and die, as long as you have age progression turned on.
The whole story line is what you make it. House building tools that allow you to fully build houses or landscape. The only limitations to your building will be the money and imagination. As luck would have it most sims like to work and they make true sim fantasy money (up to thousands a day).
No online play but they have created a sims exchange so you can use other peoples ideas and put it in your game or upload your own creations for others to marvel. Bound only by your imagination. The story creates itself or you can try to force it. This is one player only but you can control multiple sims. This game is highly addictive for a simple to play game. Its loaded with fun and challenge. Give this game an hour and it will consume days. This gets my Red Eyes, Two Sore Thumbs Award!!!!!!!
HEADS UP I do really like the game its as fun or more than the other sims BUT i do have some problems (and some salutions) I will list.1. Saves sometimes DONT work, it seems they are working on it, BUT if anyone still has problems then you can force the game to autosave. HIT MANAGE WORLDS AND SELECT GO WITHOUT SAVING. WHEN IT LOADS PAUSE AGAIN. THEN HIT RETURN TO MAIN MENU WITHOUT SAVING.
THAT SHOULD FORCE IT TO AUTOSAVE.2. Men and Womens costumizations are seperated which can be annoying for guys who want long hair or women who want mens clothing BUT you can use both for either gender. When you select a catagory i think you press X and that will take you to filters where you can turn them off so you can where whatever you want or have any hairstyle.3.
The game moves fast cuz the sims can ONLY have FULL autonomy or NONE. Controls are REALLY WEIRD cuz its a PC portSo all that out of the way I really like this game and I hope you all give it a chance and HAVE FUN!
This version plays and looks well enough, but in the end, we console players got screwed here. Where is the Gallery? Why was that omitted? We get a 3 year old game with less content than the PC version, yet we have to pay more for this version AND we have to shell out $40 for the City Living expansion too.
The more I think about it, the more it kills my enthusiasm for this game. It feels like just another EA screwjob to the consumer. No Gallery at all, but plenty of opportunities to give EA more money with Day 1 DLC.
Submitted on 9/26/2018 Review title of JIMBOLISM313Dont support EAs greed I beg you!!! This is EA for you, charge full price for a game that's under developed, then charge obscene amounts of money for the rest of the game, and never even develop 'expansions'. All of the dlc would be worth about $40-$50, and thats only if the base game had more, and better content. The dlc in total cost over $300, and again it feels like missing content, not expanded content. EA wants to take advantage of their customers as much as possible, and if you refuse to support that now, you'll ensure higher quality content in the future. Even if that means not spending $40 only so you can have a cat or dog and be a veterinarian as a career. Submitted on 9/12/2018 Review title of OffLem0nz69swegbad DLC pricing Awesome game!
Vanilla game is fun and very addictive great pass time and has so much to do. Most of the DLCs are fun as well, however with the cheaper of the DLCs all costing $9.99 a pop and the more expensive ones soaring to prices like $40.00 a pop. Some of the DLCs only adding a handful of in game props thats it can still cost more then they should spite the fact most of the DLCs aren't even new. Some of the DLCs have been out for months or years on pc. Sims is a great game and franchise but there DLC prices are ridiculous and outrageous for this ill give a bad rating. I dont think the horrible DLCs prices come from the greate people who created and developed this game so much as the company that wants to drain all the money from there loyal customers.
Even the ones who already had the game and DLCs for pc. I would recommend the game but not most of the extra content.
Instead buy something you know you want or support a indie game for the same price. Submitted on 12/5/2018 Review title of loan4884MUST READ BEFORE BUYING It's alright just some bugs and because we don't have cc it can be boring. Plus the dlc is over priced. With in a week i was bored. It's the same thing over and over.
Get a job, get rich, build and move into a house, get married, have kids, then your sim dies (Unless if your like most people and set the life span up all the way). It gets boring. BUT that's the point of giving them bad traits, There's a lot of fun to have if you'd stop making your self as a perfect sim or even making a random sim perfect. And making it so everything is perfect. Because then it is boring.
Let sims get old and pass. Basically what i'm tryna to say is quit making your sims life perfect. If real life was perfect we'd be bored with it to, at the end of the day play how you want. But if u still don't like it. Next time maybe do research about the game you want, trust me it helps a lot.
If your a reviewer then i understand buying it without much research but if your not thats what game reviewers are for.
